Junk-It Scotland are delighted to announce we have become sponsors of local youth football team Benburb FC 2013s!
Our yard in Ibrox and the club’s home at New Tinto Park are just a short 5 minute car ride away, and we are delighted to be able to support such a fantastic local club.

Giving back has always been an important part of how the Junk-It team works, from charity donations and recycling to tree planting and fundraising events and we believe that supporting our community is an essential responsibility we have as a local business.
About Benburb FC’s 2013s
Benburb FC’s 2013s are a youth team for players born in 2013. They’re part of the club’s youth section, where local children can learn the game and develop as players.
The club’s first team plays in the West of Scotland Football League.

Why we’re supporting the team
A lot of work goes into running a youth football team. Benburb’s coaches and volunteers give their time to training, matches and the jobs behind the scenes that keep everything going.
We wanted to back those efforts by sponsoring the 2013s. Playing football gives young people a chance to stay active, gain confidence and be part of a team, and we’re pleased to help the club provide that opportunity.
Good luck to the players and coaches for the season ahead, from everyone at Junk-It, we are sure you will smash it!
How Junk-It Scotland supports the community
Sponsoring Benburb FC’s 2013 team is one way we support the local community. Our clearance work gives us other opportunities to help, from passing on furniture to charities to funding tree planting in the Scottish Highlands.
Finding new homes for furniture and household items
Before sending anything for recycling or disposal, we check whether it could be used again.
We donate suitable items to charities including Oxfam and the British Heart Foundation, as well as local organisations such as Refuweegee and Starter Packs. Kitchenware, small furniture and other household essentials can all be useful, depending on what each organisation needs.
Larger furniture in good condition goes to furniture initiatives in Glasgow and Edinburgh, helping people on low incomes furnish their homes.
What charities can accept varies with demand and available space. We also work with community centres and local groups to find homes for items they can use.
Recycling and responsible disposal
Items that can’t be reused are sorted by hand. We separate wood, cardboard, plastics and metal for recycling, while mattresses and electrical items go to specialist facilities. Where necessary, we take mixed-material items apart so the materials can be processed separately.
More than 85% of what we collect is diverted from landfill. Our recycling page explains the sorting process in more detail.
Anything that can’t be reused or recycled goes to a fully licensed waste transfer station for disposal. This approach is set out in our ethical waste disposal guarantee.
Junk-It is SEPA registered and carries public and employers’ liability insurance.
Planting trees with Trees for Life
Every time we fill a truck, we fund the planting of a tree in our Trees for Life grove in the Scottish Highlands.
That partnership has now supported the planting of more than 3,255 trees. We also choose low-emission vehicles for our fleet.

We provide junk removal across Glasgow and beyond, clearing homes, garages and offices. We sort what we collect for reuse, recycling or responsible disposal, and sweep up before we leave.
